I'm importing XML in Premiere from FCPX using the XtoCC application.

However when importing into Premiere, i get a main bin with all the clips from the library (project).

And a second bin with the sequence name, containing the stuff from the sequence, but these clips are already in the main bin.

I think it effectively creates two master clips.

Is there a way to avoid this? Because I don't want to end up with a dozen duplicated clips in my project...

THX!
K.

Hi...

I'm not sure how to avoid it....

in the metadata display panel (accessed via the little hash mark menu in the project tab)

in the Premiere Pro schema (turndown)...

there are a couple of columns: video usage AND audio usage

if you enable those....

then sort the project panel or bin by those...

you can tell what objects are in use by the sequence you imported...

should be only 1 of the 2 of each object created...

you can safely delete the unused media without harming the sequence you just imported (as it will be linked to the other object)...
