Adobe integrates the ability to do word searches of indexed audio. What's the best current workflow in Premiere for indexing a bunch of interviews to use this function? For those, who use it, can it work across multiple projects? I do not have actual transcripts, but if I did, how does that change the workflow?

They killed that functionality a couple of versions ago. Adobe determined that without a script (or transcript) the accuracy just wasn't there.

that being said....if you go back a few versions...and you have transcripts...you can use that to index the files. that indexing matches the script words to the spoken words and appends as metadata via timecode indexing...

the search capability is still available in the current version of PPro....

they just killed off the analysis and indexing...

you might also look at: https://www.borisfx.com/products/soundbite/

this was phoneme based and didn't require the script for "training" to help indexing.

sorry I can't be more specific....

Thanks. Yes, I was afraid that I remembered correctly and it was axed. I am familiar with Soundbite, too. So if I have a long clip and a corresponding transcript, can I still drop the text into the info window? If so, is there any functionality to that?

Hi....

I guess you could....but with out the timecode association....

it would only tell you that something occurred....

not actually help you with when...

you could install the older version and prep the media as indicated here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/speech-analysis.html

that help?
