I won't get into the long story of why I'm trying to recover trashed mxf files, but that's what I'm doing. I've used a program called Wondershare Data Recovery and it seems like I'm able to recover the files. However, when I try to import them into Premiere they are completely red. I also tried bringing them into Handbrake, but no go (no valid source found). I tried putting the mxf file into a footage folder copied from the original card as well, no go. Catalyst Browse also is not recognizing them. Any suggestions?

I think it's single files. I'm currently using software I downloaded called "Treasure" that is actually letting me see the files. They want hundreds of dollars to do repairs though.
