I don't think there is a fix to this: We have video files MP4 that were created at frame size 1280x720.

A year later the client wants video files at 1920x1080. Yes crazy.

Without going back to the original project and source material and re-exporting, is there a way to up-rez and not have the black bar on left and right of screen?

I'm hoping there is a magical setting that I don't know about, so we won't have to re-do 60 8 minute video pieces.

Thanks much

Many thanks.

Both are square pixel 16:9 aspect ratio, so 720p should scale directly to full screen 1080.

It will not look as sharp, of course.

System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2014 (as of 7/2015)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.

Hello Jon.

Thanks for sparking my brain. If I bring the video file into my timeline and CHANGE THE SETTING TO THE ORIGINAL FILE SIZE, then export at 1080, all is well.

If I keep the original project setting when bringing the video file into my timeline, that’s when the bar shows up.

Now I can sleep.

Many thanks.

Hello Kuljeet.

I will try your suggestion tomorrow. Does preserve upscale help clean up the video quality?

Thanks for your help on this one.

E

Many thanks.
