Hello,

I am thinking of upgrading our RAM from 16GB to 32GB... What will be the main advantages of this? Will I see decreased render times? Will things load faster? Will it help with future-proofing our system?

We do a lot of work on Premiere Pro and After Effects, we sometimes make shows as long as 26 minutes long with a lot of media.

Thanks,
Mayto

If you want speedier renders the ticket is faster CPUs and GPUs - the increase RAM will yield better realtime playback performance, but not a HUGE difference in render speed/time.

Considering that we editors typically spend more productive hours creating rather than rendering (though it often seems like the opposite is true), upgrading RAM to 32Gb is an excellent investment.

We ran 16gb in our systems until 4k projects started coming in
making everything slow as molasses even at the lowest viewer resolution.

upgrading to 32gb made everything much more responsive.
