Nick ThompsonExporting Subtitles as a Text File

Hi All,

I am assistant editing a documentary where most of the footage has been translated and subtitled from Haitian Creole. We did burned in titles in Premiere, not the captioning function. We want to be able to export a sequence of subtitles and get it into text format where we have subtitles and the corresponding title, so that our editor can do word searches to help select footage she wants. I have seen that you can get this result if the title clip is NAMED the same as the subtitle. We were pressed for our time and ours are not - the content of the subtitle exists only as what the title displays, not as the clip name. Is there any way to get this information from the clips in a form other than just in the Titler window and on the screen? Or perhaps someone knows a script that could automatically change the clip names of all these title clips to match their content, as crazy as that sounds? Thank you for your help!
