Hi everyone,

I have a question about converting 4K .xmf files in Media Encoder - this is my first time starting with 4K footage so please bare with me!

I have 4K .xmf files from a Sony FS7 camera and I am looking to convert them to a more usable HD file using Adobe Media Encoder for an edit in Premiere Pro CC.

At the moment, I'm looking at using the DNxHR codec (to get as close to ProResHQ as I can - I'm working on Windows 10), exporting files using the DNX HQX 1080p 25fps (we shot at 25fps to clarify). I'm looking to deliver the video at 1080p DNX REC 709.

Does this sound like a sensible conversion process to you? Any advice would be appreciated. Happy to clarify anything.

Thanks!
