Syncing audio from one clip to Video from another
by Jay Galione on Jan 5, 2016 at 12:57:18 am
I have clips from a two camera shoot. What I'd like to do is take the audio from Cam A and the video from Cam B and create subclips to edit with. Is it true you can't merge clips if both contain video? Any way to create subclips from sequences? Is nesting my only/best option? I'm new to Premiere Pro, coming from FCP and Avid.

Yes it is true you can't merge clips if both contain video. I've always used the following method which gets the job done pretty quick if you're not having to do this with tons of clips.
1. Load Cam A into the Source Monitor (Clip you want audio from).
2. Click and drag the 'Audio only' button into the Project panel (Audio waveform button just below the monitor).
3. Select both clips in the Project panel > Right-click, choose Merge Clips from context menu.
4. From the Merged Clips dialog, check the 'Remove audio from AV clip' selection.
