So I shot a green screen interview the other day and managed to mess up rule number 1 and got a hot spot lighting the screen.

I had two cameras running - wide was fine but the close up has picked up a hot spot behind the actors face and I can't seem to eliminate a small area. (see pic)

I'm using the ultra key effect in Premiere and setting it to aggressive. This usually gets rid of the majority of green but the spot above was over exposed, I have played with highlights/shadows, tolerance, pedestal etc but I can only seem to reduce the area slightly but not completely.

Any ideas? maybe something in AE?

It might be helpful to create and animate a garbage matte around the area, and then key out the hotspot colors.

Considered that but think its too close to the subjects face

Add a second UltraKey Effect to the clip and see if you can pick it up in that.

I did try this initially but had another go and has just about sorted it with the help of a bit of mask as well. Thanks, hopefully that'll do!

This has taught me a lesson about green screens!
