Hi All,

I know that when you use track keyframes in Premiere CC, the audio clips get locked so you can't cut or move them. Anyone know of a setting to disable this?

I often am asked to adjust elements in a sequence, but because the timeline locks, I have to go through all kinds of annoying contortions to move or cut the audio on that track, which seriously slows my workflow.

Anyone know if it is possible to disable the locking?

Thanks!

Michael

Hi Michael...

you are sort of answering your own question...

just change the tracks back to clip keyframes....

you won't see the curves for the track...but they are still there...

also....they won't ripple...

but this will essentially unlock the tracks so you can edit and move the events as normal.

you'll probably just end up with some track keyframes that will have to be adjusted after the fact.

flow wise....I try to to save track level mixing until pretty late in the process...sometimes it is unavoidable though...

Hi Alex,

Thanks a bunch for your answer! That worked great! I thought there MUST be a way and that was easier than expected.

As you recommended, I usually save audio keyframing for the end, but this client frequently likes to change minor things at the end that are just significant enough to need to make minor tweaks. I don't mind shaking the keyframes a little at the end, since the change is pretty minor, but the track lock was something I didn't encounter with my pre-CC version and i'm glad to know it's easy.

Thanks again!

Michael
