Hello All,

This is my first post on this forum! My company is currently shooting a project in Red Bank, NJ. It is our first major broadcast advertisement project that we have done. (Nervous) We are shooting 1080p 23.97 (24fps). We are shooting it in that frame rate purely for aesthetic purposes (Clients want a filmic look). I understand that NTSC HD TV is Interlaced and not progressive. My question is if we continue to shoot 24p, will we be able to deliver in 1080i 29.97fps without affecting the quality of the package? What steps would need to be taken to conform the fps to 29.97? I know there is a way to do it in AE using a 3:2 pulldown but this paticular export setting isn't available (MPEG-HD) only (MPEG-2).

Final Broadcast Delivery:
XDCAM
MPEG-HD
25, 50 Mbps (CBR), or 35 Mbps (VBR)
29.97 (1080i)
Default GOP
4:2:0 Chroma
Upper Field First Interlacing (1080i)
16:9 aspect
1920x1080
LPCM Audio

1920x1080 is interlaced; 1280x720 is progressive.

I think, if I remember right, you simply make your timeline 1080i 29.97. When you bring your 23.976 footage into the timeline, Premiere Pro CC will do the 3:2 pulldown.

If I have this wrong, someone jump in a correct me.

System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2014 (as of 7/2015)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.
