Editing in 4444

Just got handed ProRes 4444 media that I was expecting to be HQ. My original plan was to cut in HQ, but am now having to consider the possibility of making proxies for an offline edit.

I'd really love to avoid all of the transcoding considering the time crunch, and am wondering if anyone has any wisdom to impart.

Am I completely foolish to think I can edit with my A CAM being in 4444? Or does it simply boil down to my processing power/volume speed?

There isn't much multicam going on. Maybe about 50% of the sync map will have simultaneous recording.

I'm spinning of a RAID 0 / TB2 hard drive for this project.

Blatant warnings, prodding questions, thoughts or advice are more than welcome.

The files are much larger than you probably need, but since ProRes is a high-performance codec you'll probably be fine as long as you don't cut more than 2 to 3 streams. Multi cam editing may prove to be temperamental.
