Good day

I'm having an issue with color rendering after export. Admittedly I am no export in the area, so I do my best to explain.

Original File comes as ProRes HQ - edited in Adobe Premiere CC 2015 - color correction was done in there.
After export I am experiencing a shift in color/saturation (perceived) - depening on which player i'm using to view the file.

My actual question is: can Quicktime Player be trusted in regards to "true color rendering"?

Details:
--------------

In Premiere Pro CC2015 (grading is not complete) it looks like this:

When exported to h.264/mp4 using the Quicktime Player to view:

But when using the VLC player to view the exact same file:

The colors seem way more washed out when using Quicktime - especially looking at her skin.
Now - i've read up on the topic - but could not find any definitive answers.
Apparently that is a gamma shift that the Quicktime Player automatically renders?

I've tried exporting the same file as ProRes HQ (not encoding to h.264) - image stays the same/effect stays the same depending on the player.

------------------
Actual QUESTION:

Is this a player issue? Ergo - are the colors of QT player NOT to be trusted?
IS VLC actually depicting the "true colors"?

Other recommondation to ensure correct color rendering of the exported file?

Thank you for your help.

[Emanuel Constantin] "My actual question is: can Quicktime Player be trusted in regards to "true color rendering"?"

Hell no.

[Emanuel Constantin] "IS VLC actually depicting the "true colors"? "

It's probably not 100% supermegaaccurate but it's better.

[Emanuel Constantin] "Other recommondation to ensure correct color rendering of the exported file?"

Bring the file back into Premiere and check if it's close to what the timeline is.

Much obliged @Tero Ahlfors.

I figured from what I've read so far, that the QT-player is to blame.
Re-importing the footage to the timeline shows a quite similar image - so I will be reviewing renders in VLC for now.

Any other player that are known to correctly (close enough) display the rendered files?
