I have installed a PC with the intention of using to solely process my projects created in Premiere CC on a Mac. All the files are sourced from the NAS which the PC can also see.
But when I load the projects into Encoder on the PC the footage is not linked. So I opened a project in Premiere on the PC and found that it couldnt locate any of the files on the NAS by itself.
The problem seems to be the way the Mac and PC see the NAS file paths differently. I want this to be a streamlined process and I feel that I will need to open all projects in Premiere first, re-link all the assets then save out and move back to Encoder to finish off the process.
This PC move was a cost saving venture over getting a Mac style setup. The Macs that edit can then continue editing without the slow nature of encoding whilst editing further projects.
If anyone has any ideas on how to have the PC or Mac note their file paths the same, it would be appreciated.
For an idea of how the mac translates its path to the NAS:
/Volumes/2015 Match Footage/... etc
PC sees the path as follows:
\\NASMELB\2015 Match Footage
Hopefully there is light at the end of this tunnel!
