Some clips i apply warp stabilizer to and they are more than fine but sometimes i get this weird kind of warppy flicker? like the clip will be stabalized and it will run a few seconds nicely then a few seconds it will not do a flicker (not a zoom in or out rapid jolt i know what those are BUT) a blurry unfocused kind of flicker? what is causing this?

You're probably trying to stabilize something that is too shaky with motion blur.

The warp stabilizer can do wonders, it cannot perform miracles.
In other words not every clip is suited to be stabilized.

Try a different Smoothness Method instead of the Subspace Warp, there are three other options. Play with all the options on a clip that doesn't work with default. It takes a while, but sometimes you can reach a happy medium with the effect.

That sounds like subspace warp doing what it's supposed to do to offset the camera movement. Try Joe's suggestion and use a different smoothness method. There are also other options to control how much it will tweak the motion settings. But if you're not getting a smooth motion by default then that often (but not always) means that there is just too much motion for warn stabilizer to fix without some weird warping, etc...

Turn off the effect and watch the clip. Is there a quick jolt of the camera at the point you're seeing this? Depending on your shutter speed, a quick movement will cause the whole frame to blur with motion blur (just like if you purposefully did a quick whip pan with the camera.) While Warp Stabilizer can take out the motion of the camera to a certain extent, it cannot remove the blurring of the video in the frame. Not sure of any software that can.
