Hi all,

I think the answer is no, but is there a way to toggle the source monitor so you can see a sequence. This is a really handy feature in Avid...

http://www.geniusdv.com/weblog/archives/toggling_between_sourcerecord_in_av...

I find it really useful to open a previously cut sequence in the source monitor, toggle it, chose precise ins and outs (often snapping to edit points) and then insert or overwrite into my new sequence.

Not possible in Premier CC?

cheers

Will

There s no TOGGLE icon like in AVID but you can load your sequence in to the source monitor and cut that in to a new sequence.

Either right click on the sequence in the bin and select 'Open in Source Monitor' or just drag the sequence in the bin in to the source monitor.

You can either insert or overwrite sequences as nests or individual clips depending on your version of Premiere

And if that sequence is in another project just navigate to that project using media browser and choose the sequence right click and open in source monitor. This brings it in as read only but you can get elements from it.

Yeap got that thanks, but it looks like there is no way of seeing the sequence as a sequence, just as playback in the source monitor. Would be a great option

thanks for help

It's not exactly what you're asking for, but you can use Match frame (press F) to match a given frame from a sequence to the source monitor. Reverse Match frame (Shift + R) does the same thing in reverse. So these two shortcuts, while not a toggle per se, provide a pretty handy way to hop between monitors without having to find your frame with timecode input (or by eye) each time.

You can also nest sequences inside of a parent sequence, if that's what you meant by "seeing the sequence as a sequence". It's a good way to keep thing compartmentalized on longer edits, or for other reasons.
