Hi

I've searched the forums and can't find the answer - but forgive me if it's me not asking the question properly!

I need to create a video sequence that will ultimately be played back on 3 full HD 16:9 video walls, one positioned centre stage, one on the left wall and one on the right wall.

Sometimes they will share content. Sometimes they will each show different pieces of video. Let's assume they'll always show different, but synced content.

I'm guessing that I create a project that is 5760 (3 x 1980) x 1080 and then crop it to render out each source?

Am I right or is there a better way?

Many thanks

Mark

Build each screen as a different track in a sequence (1920x1080); Screen 1 Track 1, Screen 2 Track 2, Screen 3 Track 3.

Scale each one down and position them so you can see all three side-by-side like they would appear on the monitors. This way you can see what is going on in each screen throughout the sequence. Once the edit is finished, restore each track to their proper size (1920x1080) and export the video tracks individually with the other tracks turned off.

A lot wil depend on what type of media server they are playing back on. Can it play 3 files/streams of video at once? Or does it have its own matrix to divide up a single image into three?

Hi Joe

Thanks for your quick response!

I understand what you mean, but each screen (or track in your suggestion) will be quite a complex project made up of multiple tracks and layers with objects scaling in and out, overlays and so on.

But even if I do limit each screen to one track, if I scale each track down to fit side by side within the preview panel, won't that affect any scaling I do in the project? Or is there a scale track function rather than a scale clip function that I don't know about? :)

Thanks again for your help

Mark

You can Nest your multiple tracks for each screen and then scale them down. Then when you need to work on a particular screen you double click on the nest to open its nested sequence.

I haven't done a project like this before, but I hope this can help you discover a workflow for you.
