I'm looking at a timeline sent to me by another editor and it looks like there are 48,000fps but it plays at 24fps. Here's what I mean, if I go frame by frame through the timeline with the arrow keys I have 48k frames before I get to the next second.

But the sequence settings tells a different story:

The footage being used for this project has a native frame rate of 23.976 as interpreted by Premiere and plays normally in the timeline. Does anyone know why it would appear this way? Thanks!

48k audio samples. You're displaying the audio samples not the frames.

...which I could have figured out by just R-clicking on it on. d'oh!

Next question: It looks like I only have the option of choosing to display either Audio Samples or Milliseconds

but if I create a new timeline I have a lot of other options.

Any idea on how I can enable the option to choose 24 fps Timecode on the timeline that is currently limited to Audio Samples or Milliseconds?

Thanks for the help!

In the original, go to sequence settings, and set audio to milliseconds. Then try and set the timecode by clicking on it in the sequence editor. I'm a little rusty on that one. If that doesn't work, your sequence may have an issue or two... You can create another one, get the settings right, then copy\paste your entire set of clips from the original sequence to the new one.

Give me a day to recreate the problem and try to fix?

Just above the timecode and next to your Sequence name, you'll see a wing menu item. Click that and deselect "Show Audio Time Units"

I didn't find the wing menu item but I found the "Show Audio Time Units" option by r-clicking on the timeline.

Thanks everybody!
