Hi,

Is there a shortcut for switching between left and right channels... instead of having to "select track, right click, audio channels, modify clip, change channels, ok, back to editing?

know what I mean?

couple of questions

Are you doing a swap or do you want one channel or the other?

are you saying that you have different sources with different mappings?

i have recorded a question and answer session. main speaker on lav mic (left channel) and audience on external mic (right channel).

looking for a shortcut to save me from making a cut at beginning and end of audience audio > doubling up the right channel > (so right channel fill both channels dual mono)

over and over again for about twenty questions....

sorry, hard to describe clearly...

search the effects panel for

FILL LEFT and FILL RIGHT

apply as needed to audio clips on your timeline…

I do this with weddings to switch between shotgun and wireless. Use Razor and put a cut each time you want to switch. Apply "Fill Left" or "Fill Right" to each segment as desired. Drop "Audio Cross Dissolve" at cuts to blend and not get a "pop".

This effect fills either the Left or Right audio evenly to both channels of stereo track, and mutes other "channel" source.

Make your own Custom effects folder, put these and other favorite effects in it and then they are right there to grab and apply, no searching.

Thanks

what i do for that issue is when the footage is in the bin, select: "modify > Audio Channels" from the right click menu and change them all to mono. (you can do all clips at once)

Then when you bring them into the sequence they will be in separate tracks and you can do whatever you want with them.
