looking for quick way to compare "snapshots" of a cut

I am working on a project with lots of quick transitions and cuts with multiple tracks involved and I would like to quickly compare different versions where transitions are just moved around by a few frames or sometimes a clip is swapped.

Is there something like a "snapshot" feature in Premiere that lets me easily save or temporarily store a version of a small portion of the timeline and then compare it to a different version? If not... can someone suggest a workaround that gives me the same result?
It's important that it is fast and gives me the ability to compare several temp versions on the fly.
If there is no solution inside of Premiere available I'd also try out something else that will give me the same result.

hmmm…

a couple things come to mind…

1) load one in the source viewer and one int the timeline….queue both to a same start point and "Gang" the viewers. this would allow a sync'd scrub of 2 sequences

2) if you load them in order int he source viewer….they should be available to switch between in the source viewer history…

Or do a "pancake view." Open both sequences and put on on top of the other.

You could also set up a muticam source sequence and stack multiple nests sequences together in a timeline…

then use the multi cam viewer and see as many as you wanted at the same time…
