Exporting .wav Files
on Nov 16, 2014 at 6:46:22 pm

Hello everyone!

I am using Adobe Premiere Pro and I typically export video in the MPEG2 format. However, when exporting, I need the audio file to be in .wav. I understand that I can't export in MPEG2 if I want the audio to be in .wav, so I was wondering if there is a video format to export in that will allow me to have the exported product be in 1080p video quality with a .wav audio file.

I'm using a PC if that makes any difference.

Thank you so much for your time everyone!

If you use mpeg2-dvd and set Multiplexer to DVD, you can set the audio to wave.

Thank you! This could be a silly question, but these videos aren't being exported in DVD format. They are for performance videos. Will exporting as MPEG2-DVD and setting Multiplexer to DVD put it in a format unplayable for computers?

You can play these files on any computer.

Thank you!

I tried doing what you said, but under audio settings, it doesn't show me the option of .wav. It also doesn't make the video full screen after. Any way to fix either?

Hey,
long time but I needed the same answer and figured it out..
I was initially just unticking 'Export Video' halfway down the export settings (where the only audio options are AAC, Dolby Digital and MPEG), but here's how you do it to other formats:

Go to File>Export>Media, change the first box 'Export Settings'>'Format' - change that (my default was H.264) to WAV or whatever other audio format you want.
Peace, Al
