I have a Premiere Pro project where I am using a dynamic link to AE comps on the timeline. I assumed that when I made changes to the AE comp they would update in Premiere but, I can't get it to reflect the changes. Is this a known issue?

Working fine for me. Do you have Production Premium or Master Collection installed? That's the only way to get dynamic link between After Effects and Premiere Pro.

Make sure you SAVE in AE before toggling back to PrP. I have never bumped into this issue and I use DL a lot.

Hmmm. Well, I have saved both and closed both and brought them back up and they still don't reflect the changes.

Strange stuff

It is production suite. I assume DL wouldn't work at all without it correct?

That is very strange stuff. Yes, if you just bought PrP and AE (not the suite) it is my understanding that they wouldn't work. What are the versions of PrP and AE ?

Ok. I deleted the render files and re-rendered the entire sequence and the updates appeared. I should have tried that before asking.

Nice. Good trouble shooting. I will have to remember this trick if I ever bump into this issue.

Dynamic Links WAS updating right away but not any more!

To refresh my Premiere Dynamic Linking I have to exit Premiere then start the program again.

Ugh! Memories of Premiere CS4 are coming back.

I am Running The Master Suite (whatever that pack is) and a pretty loaded computer. This must be a software issue.

I confirm that this problem exist in CC between Premiere and AE. The only fix i found is to erase render...

A trick to 'refresh' those AE comps is to set the opacity to 99% in premiere. In that case premiere doesn't use the older renderfiles anymore, so the changes appear. Found it faster working that way. It is a bit of a bug though.

I'm having this same problem and the opacity change isn't working. The only thing that works is quitting Premiere and re-opening it, but doing that after every edit would drive me insane. Anyone have any more ideas?

For me, this issue only happens when I've already created an AE comp and I import it into Premiere. If that's the case for you too, the workaround is to create a new AE comp from inside Premiere (File>Adobe Dynamic Link>New After Effects Composition). Then in AE, just plop your existing comp (now a precomp) into the comp you just created from Premiere. For some reason, Premiere maintains the Dynamic Link to this comp better, so when you make changes to your existing comp in AE, they update in Premiere as they should. Hope this helps!
