Digitizing to QuickTime using PremierePro CS3
on Jan 15, 2008 at 10:55:14 pm

Hello all,

I am trying to digitize 40 one hour HDV tapes into QuickTime format using the capture window in Premiere Pro CS3 (Win XP). All I get is mpg format. I know FCP does this natively, but can it be done using premiere?

Thanks in advance for all your help,

Antonio

Hey slaughter thanks for the response.

I am using a sony deck hvr-m15u to capture the tapes. I want to avoid rendering out since these clips are going somewhere else to be edited in FCP and time is of the ecense. Why not cpature in FCP? It's a long story.

So, can it be done in Premiere or that's what I am stuck with?

Thanks again for your response,

A.

Alright,

Hey Ben,

Yes, i got everything set up right and you're right,Premiere just doesn't go with QT. I have done some research and the best thing to do is what I am doing, capture in mpeg and then render out in QT.

Thanks so much for your imput.

Best to you,

A.

Hello,

You can use Cineform in Premeire pro, I think that records to Quicktimes via that in the settings in capture.

Either Aspect or Prospect HD, http://www.cineform.com

Thanks,

Leo
