Is there any way to sync audio to video from RAW footage out of O7Q+?
Due to my research in Resolve there are only two options for syncing audio to video:
1) via Timecode
2) via Waveform
Now, that I've recorded RAW footage with Sony FS700 + Odyssey7Q+, the timcecode of the audio files seems all start at 00:00:00:00 whereas the video footage has an actual timecode (eg. 02:01:44:16). The only way to sync audio to video would be via filename. But there's no option in Resolve, is there?
Has anyone come across this problem? I couldn't find any answer to this question.
A lot of small cameras are flawed in that they don't have jammable timecode. As a result, all the files start at 00:00:00:00 and will not automatically sync up with external audio or other cameras.
My advice would be what we did for 80 years prior to timecode, which was to watch the picture and listen to the sound and get it in sync manually. A clap stick is very useful to determine sync -- and they're still used even in all-digital productions just in case the timecode goes bad.
