Can someone suggest a free "what you hear" sound recorder?
Thanks

A small program that will allow me to record audio that is coming from my PC such as an interview and one that won't load a pile of extra features on my PC that are unwanted when installing.

If you have a Realtex Audio PC chip you can download the actual driver from Realtex and then you can use the Stereo Mix option to record what you hear..

I have "Realtek High Definition Audio" in my device manager along with NVIDIA audio. Can you explain how I access the Stereo Mix option?
Thanks
Roger

This all got a bit too complicated for me and I really couldn't figure out much of it. However, I did run across the Audacity program which does exactly what I need as far as recording from my PC. Thanks everyone for responding and for your help and suggestions.
