I'm planning to purchase a Canon 600D for YouTube videos, however I found out the only file format it records in is .MOV much like the iPhone recordings, previously I've had to convert these to .wmv to get them to work in Sony Vegas Pro, but it loses the video quality.
Is there anything I can do to be able to import the the files into Vegas without any problems without an error message?
Or is there a way of converting the file but keeping the majority of the quality?
Thank you in advance!

Just drag and drop them into Vegas Pro 12.0 and start editing. Unlike an iPhone, Vegas Pro has code specifically designed to handle Canon DSLR footage.

I think you may have misunderstood me, I've tried to use iPhone .mov files into Vegas before but they simply don't work and I've had to convert them to wmv.
When trying to import them, it just won't accept the file, so I'm worried the DSLR footage files will be the same.
Thanks,

I understood you perfectly so perhaps I wasn't clear in my answer so I'll expolain a little further becasue I think you may be under the misconception that a MOV file is some kind of video format. MOV is just a container for many video formats. The video from an iPhone is very different from the video from a Canon 600D even though they are both placed in a MOV file. Vegas Pro 12.0 works very well with videos from the Canon T/D line of cameras. Video from an iPhone is a completely different story, although I personally haven't had any problems with video from my iPhone 4S.

So yes, I understood you and no, you should not have any problems editing the MOV files from your Canon 600D in Vegas Pro 12.0.

Now... You didn't say what version of Vegas Pro that you have so if you are using an old version like Vegas Pro 8.0 then you may have lots of problems. This is why you should upgrade to the latest version. If you are going to use the latest camera, you need to use the latest version of software to match it.
