Is there a 64 bit ParticleView or comparable?

I upgraded my particleillusion 3.0 to the new 64 bit particle illusion but I can't load my libraries into the particleView which is still operating on 32 bit. Boris FX says they don't have another particleView, and I'm wondering if there are any other options out there for something similar? I essentially take that viewer in as a syphon output into a visual software, and it's clunky to do it directly through the software vs the viewer.

No there's not. particleView was created as a tool to more easily browse and discover the vast pI3 emitter libraries. Since the new Particle Illusion has the search integrated as well as tagged emitters, larger thumbnails, grid view, etc. there's no need for an external viewer.

If it's the full-screen feature that is important to you, we should be able to make it so the existing PI preview window can go full screen (you can almost do it now but there are some frames still showing on a couple of the edges).

Note that you can run PI directly -- you don't need a host app running first.

Ok - interesting - I did not know you could run it stand-alone. I notice when I run it S/A there is no option to save/render the output. IS there a plan to provide this facility, or is it now assumed that the host will always handle the rendering?

Thanks

Hi Stewart,

There is indeed a plan to add an export function that would enable users to render directly out of the Particle Illusion GUI, regardless of whether the product is being used in plug-in or standalone mode. We've been talking about this for a while and hope to add it to the product later this year (2020).

Cheers,
Peter.
