Maker expression to trigger position parameter
on Sep 25, 2019 at 4:38:26 am

So I have been searching high and low for a solution to this.

I am looking for an expression that would move a text box up in the Y position 80px every time I hit a new marker. So at maker 1, the box would move up 80 px from the original position. But then at marker 2 it would move up 80px from marker 1. And continue through to 30-40 markers.

I am just having to repeat this manually and its looking like me moving down the timeline creating a keyframe, advancing one frame, changing the y position by 80 px, then moving 3-4 seconds down the timeline and repeating about 30 times. So I was thinking creating markers would help automate this task and allow me to retime by just sliding.

All I am finding online is the retiming expressions but I would still need to generate every keyframe and hopefully, an expression would allow me to expedite that process. Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully someone could help. Appreciate it!

Try this:

yOffset = -80;
m = marker;
n = 0;
if (m.numKeys > 0){
n = m.nearestKey(time).index;
if (time < m.key(n).time) n--;
value + [0,n*yOffset]
