Magnify and bulge following a parented layer
on Jun 18, 2019 at 8:42:11 am

Hi all

I can't find any solutions to this online and would love some help.

I'm trying to get a bulge effect to follow a layer with an illustration of a magnifying glass. This is fine when I just want the position of the bulge to follow the image (an expression linking the centre of the bulge to the position of the image). The problem comes when I want to rotate the magnifying glass around an anchor point outside of the image, as if the magnifying glass is held by a hand and the rotation comes from the wrist.

As soon as I use a null, the relative position seem to mess up the expressions and precomping just messes up the link to the bulge.

Hope that makes sense.

Brilliant. I'll try that out, many thanks.
