I know questions like this have been asked before, but i never found an answer.
Does someone have an expression that lets me rotate a 3d layer around its local axes? I imagine to apply three sliders to my layer (one for each local axis) and a piece of code to its orientation parameter. I tried to create that code myself but i fear my math-skills are not good enough... But this should be possible, right? Any leads?
I suspect there is a practical problem in that once you've rotated along two or three of the axes, the coordinate system will have changed, so that the rest of the calculations wouldn't work. You would be able to rotate along one or two axis before end up in the same situation again, i.e. needing another parent transform to take over the existing ones. You would achieve the same (easier) with a chain of parented nulls that have the initial orientation of the layer you want to rotate on local axis.
I guess the real question is: What is it that you are trying to achieve?
