Linking a position dependent effector to a change in position.

I was wondering if anybody has tried making an expression for effectors like "Bend It"–which require a start and end coordinate–when the layer it is applied to is moving. Currently, I hard code the start position value and then subtract the current position value by pick whipping the value.

Does anybody know if there is a way where I can avoid hard-coding values?

Thank you

x = effect("CC Bend It")("Start")[0];
y = effect("CC Bend It")("Start")[1];

[x, y + (transform.position[1] - 251.5 )]

How are you animating the position? You might be able to use transform.position.valueAtTime(0) as a reference.

I am just animating the y-position. Thank you for the solution.
