Time Difference problem!
on Jun 10, 2017 at 12:11:09 pm

Hi Peeps, I'd be so thankful for the person who has an answer for this one.

I'd like to be able to track the position of this point created by time difference, as to apply a particle effect on it.
How in the hell would that work though(maybe an expression)? I'm at a loss because with tracking, After Effects insists on the source video instead of layer+effect.

link to after effects file, includes source video (2mb)
If it doesn't work, here's the creative cow upload link

Please help, thank you!

Precompose, then track?

I'm sure I tried tracking the precomposed layer before but then it would still go for the source file..

Anyway thanks, it worked! The only problem I have with this solution is that for a long video, there are quite a few moments where the motion tracker loses its object. Seems like a lot of fixing and customising the tracking radius.

If there's an easier way, that would be very appreciated!
