News: Vizrt Showcases Bluefish444 Synapse Mini Converters At IBC 2013 SDI to HDMI Conversion
(South Melbourne, Australia--September 5, 2013) Bluefish444, manufacturer of the industry’s highest quality uncompressed 4K/2K/HD/SD SDI video cards and mini converters, announced that Vizrt will demonstrate Bluefish444 Synapse SDI to HDMI mini converters as part of its workflow demonstrations at IBC 2013.
Bluefish444 Synapse converters are controlled by easily accessible dip switches on the side of each converter. By choosing a setting it is possible to convert in real time between a range of industry formats, such as 3G HD SDI, HDMI 1.3, Component, S-video, Composite, SDI Embedded Audio, Stereo Unbalanced Audio and AES/EBU digital audio.
The Synapse mini converters have been designed with an extra input connector to provide a fail safe redundancy channel in the event the incoming signal is lost. Bluefish444 designed this feature due to the prominence of live SDI production workflows within its SDI video card customer base.
All Synapse mini converters have a built in down converter, enabling down scaling options for the multiple outputs. An interlacing feature is available to process progressive frames to PSF frames on all models.
Vizrt formally qualified and recommended the Synapse HDMI 120 and SDI 110 models to their customer base in May 2013.

“Vizrt is pleased to qualify and recommend the Bluefish444 Synapse converters because they are reliable and tailored to broadcasters needs,” said Gerhard Lang, Chief Engineering Officer at Vizrt. Features like a redundancy input channel, support for 3G SDI & HDMI conversion, audio muxing, downscaling and SDI preview ensure that Synapse converters are highly suitable for the majority of Vizrt’s customers.”
Each Synapse mini converter has a MRSP of $USD 899 and are immediately available through Bluefish444 distributors worldwide. Visit http://www.bluefish444.com for details.
