See GOP Frame By Frame and Data Rate over time for an encode

As a compressionist I've been wanting to examine GOP frame by frame and data rate variance over time to trouble shoot encoding. I can finally do it in Switch Pro 2.0.

GOP of a file Frame By Frame including individual I, P, B Frames

Data Rate over time

Hi Craig, that is cool to see. As a young compressionist/DIT, what is an example of a situation that you've been able to use this analysis?

Generally it's a great troubleshooting assistant
How variable is a CBR encode since that can cause issue where CBR is required.
How wide are the data rate swings in a VBR encode in case the peaks might be causing issues.
Is it hitting or under/over shooting minimum and maximum bit rate encoder settings
How do the key frames impact the P and the B frames so one might see if anything is bit starved in a trouble area.
When using Forced and Natural Key frames, where the Natural key frames are actually occurring.
Comparing the same settings in two encoders to see if how much the results actually differ.

Ah, I see now, certainly makes sense. Thanks for the info.
