Hi People,

For a school assignment I have to make a music video clip.
The technique I want to use is like this video link bellow.

My question is: Does anyone know how to do the part where the artists are moving. Are those shots first made on green screen?

What I want: I want to film my actor on green screen, but after that I want it to look just like this video example.

Does somebody know a good tutorial for this?

Thanks in advance,

Y'know, there are people who have been using After Effects for a number of years who wouldn't want to do this, to say nothing of someone who has never touched the application before. An application which, I hasten to add, demands that one learn the basics before moving on to the esoteric stuff.

So when is this project due: in May 2015, perhaps?

This looks like classical rotoscoping, green screen won't help you here. Its painstaking labour and a good dose of talent.

I second Dave's comment, although I do not want you to lower your expectations of what you want to achieve. Truth is it takes a lot of hours of practice and learning, and there are no quick ways of achieving some of the things you see and want to replicate.
That being said, shooting the actors on green screen is not a bad idea. You can do that and then use several combinations of plugins to achieve the look in the video. Find edges inverted with Levels used to crunch the luma values before that may get you close. Also, if you have access to Toonit you may find a preset that gives you that look.

Thanks for your help Ted!
I installed Toonit.. its a great plugin.
It can help me a lot to get a similar look.
But toonit runs so slow on After Effects. Sometimes it crashes for 3 minutes or so.
Do you why this is? Or how I can help this problem?
