Quick question,

An editor has given me a Pro Res 4444 video clip, in which i will bring in to AE and manipulate.
After i'm finished, should i simply output again at Pro Res 4444.....will this process result in any unnecessary compression?

Thanks!

I'd ask the editor and deliver what the editor wants. If that's not possible, deliver ProRes 4444, which is what you were given.

Personally, I'm comfy with ProRes 422 for just about anything I do. If I was working with a paranoid client who wanted to make double-dog sure there would be no loss in image quality, I'd go with ProRes HQ, and I would only use ProRes 4444 for animations containing an alpha channel.

But that's me.

Hi,
How do you install these codecs into After Effects? Is there a website where I can download them? I'm in cs 5.5

Thanks!
