After Effects freeze when open a file :(
on Feb 3, 2011 at 2:32:49 am

I have made an animation for a videoedit in AE cs4, which took around a day. Now it won't open i AE :(
The colorwheel just spin and spin and program writes "saving project". Does anyone know this problem and can it be fixed? See attached screendump.

Thanks for all help!

Best wishes,
Mark

Rather than opening the project file directly, try making a new project, and IMPORTING the troublesome project into it. It often works.

And looking at your screen shot, here's more advice: you REEEEEALLLLY need to get rid of all those mp3's if you intend to render an animation with an audio track. AE absolutely hates compressed audio. You need to convert those babies to aiff or wav files... and don't try to use AE to do it.

[Mark Hildebrandt] "I guess i have to start all over again with my project."

Not necessarily -- if the import trick is successful, then reorganize folders as desired, save the new project file, save a copy, then get to work on the audio. You can use the Replace Footage command to substitute uncompressed audio for compressed audio, no other adjustments necessary.
