Find frame range of a precomposition
on Dec 27, 2010 at 7:52:04 pm

Hy there,

as one can see in the attached image, I do have a Composition containing several other compositions.
What I try to figure out now is, which frame-range has for example the OrbitCam ?

I can see that I am on frame 290, but I want to know which frame I am on *in the OrbitCam pre-composition*.
In this example the range *in the OrbitCam precomp* will be about 270-290.

When I click on the layer in question, I see the In and Out point and the duration, but here too its the frame-range on the current compo, not the range for the precomp.

Thank you very much
André

No attached image for me...

I'm a little confused on what you are asking...but this may help?

Do you have "sync time of related comps" enabled in prefs? It would be at the same time in related comps when clicking through them. This should get you what you need.

Next try to attach the image ;-)

I do have "Synchronize Time of all related Items" in the General tab activated. I use CS4 right now ...

I just found I way to look it up.
If I navigate to the frame I want to "look up from the precompo" in the composition and I double-click the precomposition, it brings me into the precomp at the correct point of time.
This didn't work with just clicking the tab of the precompo.

Thanks again,
André
