Is there any way to use the frame interpolation ability built into Timewarp or Twixtor to rebuild individual video frames? Ideally I'd like to just mark a spot on the timeline and say "put a new frame here". Seems like kind of an obvious use of that technology, but I haven't seen any app/plugin that advertises that sort of work flow.

Adriano, that's a really cool script you've linked to. I've done this by hand in the past, but this will be way faster.

I'm still not even understanding the OP's original question: what does s/he mean by "rebuild"??

[Eric Chard] "I'm still not even understanding the OP's original question: what does s/he mean by "rebuild"?"

I am not the OP, but I've used Twixtor to "rebuild" glitchy video frames from tape-based recordings with massive dropout problems by deleting the original frame from a comp, then time remapping Twixtor from the last good frame before the glitch to the first good frame after it. I could also see it being useful for repairing flash frames or fixing image sequences with missing frames.

You can use Twixtor in the following way to recreate the missing frame: take the two frames surrounding the glitched frame and put them together in a new timeline. Then apply Twixtor and set the speed to 50% to interpolate a frame between the two good frames (the newly interpolated frame will then be the second in that new timeline. Then put that newly interpolated frame back into your sequence.

A much easier way is to use RE:Flex to replace the frame. There's a tutorial here on the Cow! http://library.creativecow.net/freitag_lori/Replace-Missing-Frames/1
