How to change an individual colour in After Effects?

I've shot a video and it's got a very vibrant colour (pink) that I want to isolate. There is nothing else in shot, just a black background with this pink in the forground. I want to change the pink to yellow if possible,

in Photoshop this would be quite easy, is there an easy way to do it in after effects (without masks?)?

(P.s. Yes I'm an novice so detailed tutorial would be appreciated!)

The Change To Color effect is the simplest way, and it works OK if you really do have a unique color in the shot that you want to change.

If that doesn't work, ask back, and we can point you to the more advanced ways that get you past the common hurdles.
