This is my first post to the forum, but I have visited many times for tips. I run into this problem from time to time, and I'm just curious to know if anyone else has this issue.
When creating typography I notice the audio skips and does not play in sync with waveform. The audio waveforms are at times not even present. Then there are times when the audio will play and skip to a totally different place within the audio track. I closed out of the waveform view, opened in the viewer, and the audio continues to skip around. I don't have any other programs open that would use ram. Not really sure about this one. Any advice would be appreciated.

I suspect you like to use compressed audio: mp3's and ac3's, for instance; you can't do this in AE.
You simply MUST use uncompressed audio files like aiff and wav. Use something like Quicktime Pro to convert them. That's why I like QT Pro so much; it's like a multimedia Swiss Army Knife. Best 35 bucks you'll ever spend.
You also MUST have the free update to AE 10.0.1.

This occurs when using AIFF files with After Effects 10.0. You should update to 10.0.1.
