I'm on AE CS5, on 10.6.2 (mac book pro).
I'm working on a project that just video and overlays - not even effects.

The problem is when I hit "0" for RAM Preview, it starts rendering but wont stop for ANYTHING.
(as would happen if you "touched" the timeline / hit space etc).
And after AE is finished with the RAM preview, it won't play it.Weird

Am I missing something ?
Or is it a new feature like the "open comp without holding option",
a habit which I still fight ?

thanks

Sorry I am still in the good old days of CS4. But it sounds like something may be conflicting with the rams allocation. After Effects never likes to compete for ram. Maybe something is running in the background? Just a thought.

Have you updated to After Effects 10.0.1?

If you have multiprocessing turned on, try turning it off.

Thanks. Did a memory test - looks OK.
AE is updated to 10.0.1.
Multiprocessors render is turned off.
I'm going to try a fresh install. See if that helps.

How about restoring default preferences and clearing caches before a complete reinstall?
