In trapcode particular 1.5 the render mode works in motion preview but when switched to full render particular disappears. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

[Yasmine Baize] "when switched to full render particular disappears"

I'm puzzled by what this means. Does the effect suddenly cease to be in the layer's effect panel?
Do the particles become invisible?

The layers are still there however the particles become invisible.

I'll throw out a few possibilities:
Your particles are very small, making them tough to see at full resolution.
You're using Open GL acceleration, which just doesn't work well with AE. Turn it off.
Since you run AE 9, you could be experiencing problems with the type of footage in your comp:

Dave's Stock Answer #1:

If the footage you imported into AE is any kind of the following -- footage in an HDV acquisition codec, MPEG1, MPEG2, AVCHD, mp4, mts, m2t, H.261 or H.264 -- you need to convert it to a different codec.

These kinds of footage use temporal, or interframe compression. They have keyframes at regular intervals, containing complete frame information. However, the frames in between do NOT have complete information. Interframe codecs toss out duplicated information.

In order to maintain peak rendering efficiency, AE needs complete information for each and every frame. But because these kinds of footage contain only partial information, AE freaks out, resulting in a wide variety of problems.

I'm a Mac guy, so I like to convert to Quicktime movies in the Animation or PNG codecs; both are lossless. I'll use Apple's Compressor, Adobe Media Encoder or Quicktime Pro to do it.

Open GL is off. There is no footage, we are making something entirely out of After Effects.

Could the issue be that we duplicated the composition and changed the key frames for particular and camera movement?

It could be, if you altered the camera motion from an existing keyframe. The motion path's Bezier handles could now be off, moving the camera in a way you hadn't intended.

I understand that would've been a problem but within the duplicated comp we erased all the key frames and started key framing form scratch...beg to end.

Secondly, we see and can render out particular when the effect is in "motion preview" render mode but not when it is on "full render".

Okay, here's my last thought, and then I'm out of answers:

When you duplicated the comp, did you also increase the H&V resolution, e.g. go from SD to HD?
If you didn't modify the particle size accordingly, they could be too small to be seen easily in in a full render.

I did not increase the H&V resolution, its still in SD.

Thank you for your time. I will continue trying to find a solution.
