Perhaps someone...cough...Dan Ebberts....has posted or has already created an expression for this. I have 8 colors I would like to cycle through randomly for say 5 frames at a time and hold on that color not blend between them. I've seen quite a few random color posts but none with these parameters.

you could add the fill effect to the layer, add 8 keyframes to the color property, setting a unique color for each keyframe.

then use an expression like this for the color property:

posterizeTime(6); // value is in fps
r = Math.ceil(random(0,numKeys));
