Is there a way to import a large section of text and have each word pushed into its own text layer?

I'm doing some simple text visuals to accompany some speeches. However, I've got 52 of them to do. If I was able to import a sentence at a time, and have each word put into it's own layer, well, that would save me an INCREDIBLE amount of work.

I've just been adding each word, one at a time, and then pre-comping each sentence or phrase once matched to the audio. Once I've entered in all the text, I go back to format and apply effects.

Any thoughts on making this workflow faster and more efficient when it comes to text entry?

I'd create empty text layers in the typeface, color, stroke, size etc. desired. Then I'd open the text editor document -- fewer settings to screw things up, y'know -- then double-click on the words, copy, and then paste into the empty text layers.

Maybe someone knows of a script that'll parse such a document into individual text layers, but I sure don't.

It's faster for me to just type in each word, rather than bounce back and forth between programs to copy and paste.

I need each individual word to have its own text layer (just to clarify).

[Luke McFadden] "I need each individual word to have its own text layer (just to clarify)."

Understood.
Perhaps someone else will have a better idea, I hope someone does, and if you have sufficient time, you can wait for it. If you don't, I'd get typin'.

If I was you I would check this site....

What you want will be a script... and that's all this forum does... AE scripts.

Good Luck.

Not sure if you are still looking for a solution, but here's a method I've used when faced with this problem.

Import a sentece or paragraph of your text. Add a text opacity animator to the text. Twirl down the range selector > advanced and change the "Based on" to words and "Units" index. Add an expression to "Start" index-1 and an expression to "End" index

Now just change your "mode" to subtract and the opacity to "O%". Now duplicate the layer for each word. And you will have each word on it's own layer.
