I've been asked by a client to supply him with a copy of his video project in 4:3 as they want to display the video on a 4:3 screen from a laptop projection. He has also asked me to supply him with the video in a .mov format as this is what his laptop plays best.
I've dropped my video (uncompressed avi) into a 4:3 ratio comp and exported using the animaton export settings and it plays fine but is coming out at over 700mb (3 min video).
Is there any way of using a different codec that will compress the video but still retain the quality as I need to be able to email over the final video to him.

DON'T EXPORT UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE!
RENDER USING THE AE RENDER QUEUE!
Now: use your Animation-codec file in a proper compression application to create a quicktime movie in mp4 or h.264. Adobe Media Encoder will do the trick. It should p[lay back smoothly on the client's machine. Check the file on something really crude, like a laptop, before you send it.
