3D Layer not respecting Z-Space
on Sep 10, 2010 at 6:53:15 am

Hey guys,
I've been working on a faux 3d popup book animation within after effects, I'm about half way through and suddenly every new element I bring in no longer respects z-space. All previous elements are working as intended. Just anything new is adhering to layer order and as such only gets smaller when I adjust it.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Cheers

-Chris

There are a few things that disrupt AE's 3D space when you insert them in between 3D layers in your comp. The usual suspects include 2D layers, adjustment layers, and 3D layers with layer styles.

See 3D layer interactions, render order, and collapsed transformations in the online help for more.

Turns out it was an adjustment layer.

Thanks Walter.

The most common cause for this is a 2D layer among your 3D layers. It'll mess things up every time.
