only background plate renders

I'm still quite new to AE. I'm currently working a test with a friend. I'm trying to execute a car crash where an oncoming vehicle crashes into the drivers side area of the car in the middle of an intersection.
Anyways, the green screen shot profile view of our driver did not key very well. So I Rotoscoped the entire shot. I needed several masks to to eliminate the extra green patches behind his head. I added a background process plate and it looked ok. When i press ram preview, I can see everything. When I add it to the render que and press render, only the background plate appears. The foreground layer with all the roto never renders.

Did you accidentally add the background plate to the render queue instead of the comp with both foreground and background?
