Export SWF .. no link
on Sep 6, 2010 at 8:25:17 am

Hi everybody.
I'm using AE CS4.

Wher I export an animation in SWF (banner 468x60 dimensions), marker info like chapter and link doesn't work in web browser.
It seems than link is not embedded.

I put a marker at frame 0.

Where I go wrong ?

Thanks

Did you include layer markers or composition markers? Only layer markers work. See this page for details and syntax for web links in markers.

No way.
It doesn't work.

I put a layer marker at frame 0, inserting link in URL, but no embedded link :O(

I'm "stupid" or what else ? :O(

I just tried it, and it worked fine for me.

Add the marker. Put a URL in the field in the marker dialog box. Export to SWF, checking the Include Layer Marker Web Links box. Play SWF, and targeted page opens.

If it's not working for you and you want help troubleshooting, then you'll need to get a lot more specific about exactly what you're doing and exactly what is happening.

Sorry Todd, but I've done exactly what you write.

Watch this:

.. and this is the result of export
http://www.glbproject.it/bidone/cc.zip

The behaviour is that when the banner appears, the browser goes automatically to link even if nobody clicks .. then it loops.

I really don't know why !! :O(

You just described the expected behavior. After Effects doesn't create interactive content; in other words, clicks have nothing to do with it. After Effects creates a SWF file that will open a web page to the URL that you specify when the playback reaches a certain time.

So, it sounds like things are working like they are supposed to, but you misunderstood how they are supposed to work.

Sorry Todd.
Could you send me or link an example project that works ?
Many many thanks.

Again, you misunderstand.

In your previous message, you described that your project is working the way that the feature is expected to work.

Ok !!
NOW .. I understand :O(

Then, I have to use Flash to embed a link with the correct behaviour (or better, classic banner behaviour) ??
