Hello cows!

I really need to know how to do this, because my deadline is approacing, as always :S.
I've made a light streak/light spline with particular, that follows/ emits from a light source.

I have animated it so that it enters the picture fast (by keyframing the spline path in that way), and then I've used "Physics Time Factor" to make it like slow motion...

The problem is, that i want it to exit the picture/viewer in the same manner. Going from something that look like ultra-slow, to then speed up and rapidly leave the picture/viewer - BUT:

How can i control the end of the spline properly. The particle life-span isn't that great, cause when it's animated in this way, it gets very uncontrollable. Here the time factor also messes a bit with the whole timing, cause it's also slowing the time-span of the particles, so it's very unpredictable.

Is there a way to control, when the end of the spline shows instead of particle life span?

Thank you so much in advance!
Anders

I'm not quite understanding what you're trying to do. Would a Linear Wipe transition be useful? (Or precomp your Particular layer and use a mask?)

Thanks for your reply.

No, a linear wipe or mask would not be useful, as the spline is in 3D space, and covers itself in different positions - so i would just crop the whole image as if it the spline was in the same distance to the camera, allover, and it's not.

Anyone else?

Lots of possibilities depending on the actual look you want. But I suggest that you try animating Physics>Air>Wind to 'blow' the particles off.

[Anders Lilkaer] "Is there a way to control, when the end of the spline shows instead of particle life span?"

Like Michael, I'm having a hard time visualizing what problem you're running into and what solution you want.

Wouldn't tweaking the motion path on the light/emitter help?

If I follow what you're asking, maybe this will work. Instead of using the Physics Time Factor, create your entire animation at your desired slow-mo speed. Then precomp that effect and enable time remapping. Now you can speed up the beginning and end of the effect. Hope that helps.
